What we do?

We take computers and other IT equipment that is unwanted and refurbish what we can for reuse by those who need it. What can’t be reused is sustainably recycled with none going into landfill. We are a circular economy organisation reducing the carbon footprint of digital items through reuse. 80% of the carbon used by a computer is in its manufacture and before it is even switched on. Through reuse we save the need to use more carbon to manufacture replacements.

We have three core activities in South Africa

  1. Providing a secure IT disposal service whereby redundant assets are collected, hard drives are wiped to UN standards and then refurbished for reuse or recycled sustainably
  2. Distributing the refurbished assets on a charitable basis to organisations and individuals who need them in South Africa
  3. Seeking funding for projects that use digital technology to overcome discrimination and disadvantage which may be caused, for example,
by poverty, ill health, and gender.
